At this time last year, the Solidres app was officially featured in the Android Play Store, and now we are very happy to announce that it is officially available in the iOS App Store. But it is not just the only great news: the Solidres app is now free for all Solidres users (both Android and iOS platforms).
That means to use the Solidres app, you only need to make sure that your Solidres for Joomla is upgraded to v2.11.1+, and follow some little extra steps in our tutorial to make sure that you are all rightly set before using the app.

Solidres for Joomla 2.11.0 has been released, it is a major version which has many new features, bug fixes and other improvements. Details can be found below:

New Summary module to show a summary of the reservation process for guest, it helps to improve the usability of the reservation process and make it more user friendly
New option “Allowed checkin days” for Check Availability module, this option is useful when the property has fixed checkin days and it could make the availability search faster by only showing the available checkin days for guest
New room type selection layout, it is improved for better responsive, tested also with Bootstrap 4.
New option “Default rate plan visibility”, this is requested by many users when they want to display the rate plans in front end, but hide them by default and the rate plans are only showed when guest click on button “Rates”

Property list in backend: now filter by parent categories will also show the results of sub categories

We’d like to share a preview of the Summary module, one of the new features that will be included in Solidres for Joomla 2.11.0. This module is developed to increase the Solidres’s usability and user-friendly, especially in mobile devices. Please check the video below to get an overview of this new module:
This video was recorded in Joomla 4 Beta 3, we’ve put a lot of effort to improve Bootstrap 4 support for Solidres, and the result can be seen in the video.
Solidres for Joomla 2.11.0 will require PHP 7.2 as minimum requirement therefore please consider upgrading your PHP version as soon as you can to get the best performance and features. If your hosting does not offer PHP 7.2+, please run away from them as soon as you can as this is a big sign of a bad hosting provider. We also noticed some of our users can not upgrade PHP because one of their installed Joomla extensions is not compatible with the latest PHP versions: please uninstall it right away as it is a sign of a bad extension, please only install actively developed and well maintained extensions.

In this blog post, we will show you how to create a touchless online menu with our RMS component through some simple steps:
Step 1: Create online menu item
In your Joomla backend, create a menu item with the type “Restaurant Management System (RMS) > E-menus” and publish it. Then copy the menu URL for the next step.
Step 2: Generate QR code
Use an online QR code generator tool (there are many good choices, choose the one that you feel comfortable to work with), then generate your desired QR code from the URL copied from step 1. We’d like to suggest this one:
